Austin Medication Storage Program Opens Weekdays for Homeless Population

May 8, 2024

A new medication storage program for individuals experiencing homelessness in Austin is now open. The program is open 8 a.m. To 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 505 Barton Springs Road and is made available through the Downtown Austin Community Court’s (DACC) Walk-In Case Management Services.

DACC’s Walk-in Case Management serves over an estimated 70 people per day and provides assistance with signing up for public benefits, obtaining and storing vital documents, using DACC as a mailing address, and linkages to medical, mental health, and substance use services. Recently, the prescription medication storage program has worked to make sure people experiencing unsheltered homelessness have a secure place to store prescribed medication.
