HHSC Offers Virtual Training for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

September 9, 2024

September is recognized as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about suicide prevention and promoting resources to support those in need. During this month, the Health and Human Services Commission Office of Mental Health Coordination is offering a series of virtual training sessions focused on suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention support strategies.

These trainings aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify warning signs of individuals at risk of suicide and to provide effective support and intervention strategies. By participating in these sessions, people can play a crucial role in making a positive impact on the lives of those who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts.
