New Map Showcases 18 BJA Program Grantees in Texas
The Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP) released a new interactive map featuring all active grantees nationwide. JMHCP launched as a program under the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Its mission is to unify justice and health partners around a common goal: reducing criminal justice involvement for people with mental health conditions or co-occurring disorders and connecting them to treatment and services. The new map also features Connect and Protect program grantees, whose projects focus on helping law enforcement and behavioral health agencies work together to improve crisis responses for people with mental health needs or co-occurring disorders. Texas has 11 active JMHCP projects and 7 active Connect and Protect projects.
