SAMHSA Grant to Expand Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Capacity in Adult and Family Treatment Drug Courts
SAMHSA recently announced funding would be implemented to expand substance use disorder (SUD) treatment capacity in adult and family treatment drug courts. The program recognizes the need for treatment rather than incarceration for individuals with SUD involved with the courts. Through this program, SAMHSA hopes to improve abstinence from substance use, housing stability, employment status, social connectedness, health/behavioral/social consequences, and reduce criminal justice involvement.
Eligible applicants are States and Territories, including the District of Columbia, drug courts, political subdivisions of States, health facilities, Indian tribes, or tribal organizations (as such terms are defined in Section 5304 of Title 25), or programs operated by or in accordance with a contract or award with the Indian Health Service, or other public or private nonprofit entities.
The deadline to apply for this grant is April 1, 2024.
