SAMHSA's Gains Center Now Accepting Applications for Sequential Intercept Model Mapping Workshops
Applications due October 18, 2024.
The SAMHSA’s GAINS Center is currently seeking applications from communities interested in participating in Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) Mapping Workshops. These workshops are designed to bring together a diverse group from a specific jurisdiction, typically a county, to promote collaboration and identify ways to reduce barriers between the criminal justice and behavioral health systems. The goal is to develop integrated local strategic action plans. Participants are expected to come from local criminal justice and behavioral health agencies and organizations.
Available SIM Mapping Workshops
Option 1: Traditional SIM Mapping Workshops
The GAINS Center is seeking applications from communities interested in participating in "traditional" SIM Mapping Workshops. These workshops focus on identifying and responding to the needs of adults with mental and substance use disorders who are involved in or at risk for involvement in the criminal justice system.
Option 2: SIM Mapping Workshops To Develop Comprehensive, Community-Wide Strategic Plans for Addressing Opioid and Other Substance Use
The GAINS Center is seeking applications from communities that are interested in developing comprehensive, community-wide strategic plans to address opioid and other substance use. The goal is to better identify and respond to the needs of adults with substance use disorders who are involved or at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system. Applications should focus on resources, gaps, opportunities, and the commitment of key stakeholders to address these issues.
