Travis County's first-ever Youth Mental Health Crisis Center opens in Mueller

The words “grow through what you go through” accompany brightly painted plants and rainbows on the walls of Integral Care’s new youth crisis mental health center, offering a space for teens across the county to decompress while in the throes of mental health challenges or unsafe living environments.

Intended for young individuals, ages 13-17, the mental health program offers an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization, according to Marlene Buchanan, the director of systems of care at Integral Care. She said this service helps fill the need for intermediate care.
