TXBHJ Partners With TIEMH and Rulo Strategies for Launch of the Texas Pre-Arrest Diversion Learning Collaborative

The Behavioral Health and Justice Technical Assistance Center in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health, and Rulo Strategies, is excited to announce the launch of the Texas Pre-Arrest Diversion Learning Collaborative.

Through this learning collaborative, teams representing local law enforcement agencies and local mental health authorities, and local behavioral health authorities, will receive hands-on technical assistance from subject matter experts to support the planning for and implementation of pre-arrest diversion programs in their communities.

Fifteen teams have been selected to participate:

1.  Waco Police Department and Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network

2. Temple Police Department and Central Counties Services

3. Brazos County Sheriff's Office and MHMR Authority of Brazos Valley

4. Grayson County Jail and Texoma Community Center

5. Howard County Sheriff’s Office and West Texas Centers

6. Kaufman County Sheriff's Office and North Texas Behavioral Health Authority

7. Hays County Sheriff's Office, Kyle Police Department and Hill Country MHDD Center

8. Llano County Sheriff's Office and Hill Country MHDD Center

9. Midlothian Police Department and North Texas Behavioral Health Authority

10. Smith County Sheriff's Office and Andrews Center Behavioral Healthcare System

11. Brown County Sheriff's Office and Center for Life Resources

12. Lubbock Police Department and StarCare Specialty Health System

13. Laredo Police Department and Border Region Behavioral Health Center

14. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Bluebonnet Trails Community Services

15. Burnet County Sheriff's Office and Bluebonnet Trails Community Services

We are excited to begin our work with these teams and look forward to supporting the important work of local Texas communities as they implement pre-arrest diversion programs to enhance services for individuals with behavioral health issues who come into contact with the justice system.
